“I personally thought I was at an intermediate level before reading to my teacher but he pointed out mistakes that I didn’t know I had and hadn’t been pointed out before.”

What this course covers

  • A daily portion sized to your real schedule factoring in your personal commitments
  • A consistent focus on Tajweed so you’re proficient by the time you finish
  • Revision techniques that keep old surahs from slipping away
  • Your own personalised portal breaking down exactly how long left you have of your journey

One-to-one or groupAvailable in both 1-1 format and group classes. 1-1 classes are recommended for a more personalised focus on the student’s memorisation journey, whilst group classes are recommended for those who prefer a peer learning environment. Compare the two side by side.

In your lessons

Memorise the Qur’an, and actually maintain it.

Where you start

Your choice of surah

You choose where to begin and the order you memorise in. The only requirement is that you can read the Arabic alphabet.

Memorising

Every surah, with precision

Each surah is memorised with precision and correct Tajweed (Hafs ‘an ‘Asim), from a 15-line Madani muṣḥaf in your portal where your teacher can highlight anything you need to work on.

Revision

Keeping what you’ve learned

  • Every few weeks, a test on everything you’ve memorised so far
  • A test at the end of every juz
  • Frequent check-ins to hold you accountable with your revision

Keeping what you’ve memorised is the hard part. We give you the tools to maintain your revision, so you’re not constantly forgetting what you’ve already learned.

There’s no fixed length - when you finish, you will receive a certificate and can begin your journey in obtaining an ijazah.

Before you start

Can I memorise while working full time?

Yes, and many students here do. The portion is sized to the hours you actually have rather than the hours a timetable assumes. Your Hifth journey will be fitted around your personal schedule and commitments, be it work, studying or family.

How lessons fit around your week

What happens to what I have already memorised?

It is revised alongside the new portion. Memorisation that is not maintained slips away, so revision is built into the plan from the first lesson rather than added once something has been forgotten.

Do I need to read fluently before I start memorising?

No. The only requirement is that you can read the Arabic alphabet. If you’d like to strengthen your reading first, the Fluency course will make memorising much easier.

The Fluency course

How long will it take me to memorise the Qur’an?

It depends on how much you memorise each day and how much time you can give. Your student portal tracks your progress and shows how much of your journey is left.

How do you stop me forgetting what I’ve memorised?

Through regular testing. Every few weeks you’re tested on everything you’ve memorised so far, you’re tested again at the end of each juz, and frequent check-ins keep you accountable. We give you the tools to maintain your revision, so you’re not constantly forgetting what you’ve learned.

Do I get a certificate or ijazah?

Yes. You’re tested at the end of each juz, and when you finish you’ll receive a certificate and can begin your journey in obtaining an ijazah.

Can I memorise in a group?

Yes. Groups are kept to no more than 5 and suit students who prefer a peer learning environment. One-to-one gives your memorisation a more personalised focus.
